I might be doing the same mods as deltadawg, as I already bought the Stage 1 cam and I am thinking of a JE or Weisco 10.75:1 high compression piston. So the new cam timing chain that you were talking about, were you talking about just getting a new OE replacement or an aftermarket chain. If aftermarket, who makes one and what do they usually cost?

 

I just did the 11-1 piston and Hotcam Stage 1 cam. I am very happy with the performance, I have not revved it out yet as I am still breaking it in but it rips pretty nice. Talk to 14mins about both items Mark is great to deal with and his prices are great.

I checked out 14mins E-bay auctions, and I probably would have bid on his Stage 1 Hot Cam because it was a really good price ($105, I think); but I stumbled upon another new Stage 1 Hot Cam that I ended up getting for $96 plus $6 shipping. I'm pretty happy about it.

So RaptorRider, how complete was your K&N jet kit? I'm thinking about either getting a K&N, or Dynojet, but I'm leaning toward the Dynojet right now.

 

Alaska, the DynoJet kit is what I have, and with the same mods.... it is well worth it!

BTW - the DynoJet kit and the K&N jet kit are identical - they are the same. Both are made by the same manufacturer... so you can't go wrong!

Ya man, just did the 11:1 Wiseco & Stage I hotcam a few weeks ago & after breaking it in I had it out yesterday & it rips. I paid $105 for piston & $118 for the cam.
I wouldn't buy into the "JE piston is better" especially when its rumored that its made by Wiseco & it costs about $40 more- I could be wrong, just going by what I hear. If you look in DW magazine you'll see a kit for the 11:1 Wiseco piston with head/base gasket for $149, that's a real good deal considering the dealer charges $39 for the head gasket alone!

Well my thoughts was that JE is the best place to get a JE 11:1 high comp piston, so I called them and ordered it! I didn't care if it was $15 - 40 more.
