nitro RC car

Since you guys are talking about Rc's I think I'll join in. My collection consists of a lightly modified E-maxx and stampede. I used to own a T-maxx but the Pro .15 was a pain to tune and I ended up trading it for the E-maxx.
If someone wants a really durable electric truck look into a traxxas stampede, they are almost bullet proff and can be had RTR (ready to Run) for under $175 plus batteries and a charger.

I have an RC10t2 Sport(electric) which takes one heck of a beating. I've probably have that thing 10 ft in the air. Its upgraded with titanium turnbuckles and hinge pins, MIP cvds, a tekein P12 esc, ball bearings, probably more. I'm still amazed over the beating I've given it. I got a set of sand paddles and took it to the beach. It did pretty good to me. I also had an RC10B3 which I raced for a summer. I sold it a few years ago and am now regreting it, I want to race again. The prize of my colection was an original Tamyima Super Champ. If you see these things on ebay the new kits go for $700 sometimes. We should see if they'll make up an RC forum on here. I like talking to other people about my stuff and hearing what others have.

U guyz got me hooked! I just went on to ebay to check out Traxxas. NOW I'M WANTIN ONE! What do u guyz think of a Stampede or a Rustler. There's some on ther pretty cheap I'm thinkin about biddin on. I don't know what I want. I don't really wanna spend a bunch of money every weekend just for nitro. But don't nitro's go faster? Need help! Thanx in advance!

You have to watch with the engine. If you get a bad one it might need a new piston and sleeve(appx $50). The stampede is more of a monster truck and the rustler is sportier. After initial cost it isnt much. A gallon of fuel will last you a while depending on how much you use it.

Do they all come w/ reverse? I just wanna do some fun off-road. Not really competition. I would like to run it on the road some to. I should prolly go for the rustler then. I've seen something call 20 turn motor, 12 turn motor, 15 turn motor. What is it?

Not all come with reverse. Electric can easily get reverse if they dont have it. Just a matter of getting a new speed control. For gas its kinda rare, but becoming more common to have reverse. As far as I know you cant change to reverse. Turns on a motor is how many times the wire inside is wrapped around if I am correct. The fewer the turns the faster the motor and also the smaller the run time. For bashing around I think the something like a 20turn would be fine. You should get about 7-10 min running. If I'm wrong on any of this someone please correct me.

Sorry for my word mis matching, I just call it jetting cause im used to calling adjusting the fuel ratio and stuff jetting. Its meant just turning those little *****. They are so picky though, we were running my friends fine at his house, brought it to mine and had to re tune. Then we think we have it right and it all of a sudden starts bogging or stuttering. I was considering buying one till I saw that you spend more time with twisting those little ***** than actually driving it. T-Maxs come with a lot of plastic on them too, stuff starts breaking real fast if you ramp it. I think he broke a shock tower the first day. As for porting the,, every now and then ill come across magazine articles on how to do it with some tape and a dremel tool. My hand isint very steady and it would come out looking like swiss cheese. But if I sat there long enough with the new ports marked on with tape, tiny file and sand paper in hand, I bet eventually I would get it. BUT they said that it makes them harder to start and keep running...... thats already hard enough.
Are all of them so hard to get running right? His dads little buggy didnt seem near so bad, maybe because it was lighter and less strain on the engine or something, but wed just crank it up and let her go.

My friend has a rustler. It is really fun to screw around with but they break a lot, but maybe that's because it got ran over by a car, and we were jumping it off the ramps at the sk8 park... But what do i care, i dint pay for it. haha
I almost bought a rustler, but then I bought a pipe for my wheeler... I am glad I went with the pipe, because I dont make enough money to be fixing a R/C car every day.
