Default Raptor snorkel question

does the Raptor have an air intake snorkel?
and if so, can it be modified to be less restrictive.... kind-of like what they do with the 400EX snorkels?

Default Raptor snorkel question

The raptors snorkel is restricted by two rubber flaps easily removed with a razor...however I should warn you that my raptor has always been tempermental with jetting and air-flow changes...one usually has to be accompanied by the other. The raptor is set up lean from the factory and any extrra air will contribute to this.

Default Raptor snorkel question

well, here's my thoughts....

I'm thinking about purchasing a Raptor, and was wondering if I'd notice a difference in performance if I removed the air intake snorkel baffles, removed the spark arrestor, and then upped the main jet???

just looking for some inexpensive improvements...

also.... do you think I'd need to change the needles or smaller jets? if so, I might as well get a complete K&N jet kit, huh?
that is about $100 w/o labor... because if it's true that they run lean from the factory, then mine should run the leanest.... I'm down here next to the ocean at zero elevation

You would see a performance gain any time you increase fuel and air into a motor.

Larger mains increase fuel.

$100 for a K&N jet kit? I'd find another supplier.

$60 for the GYTR jet kit. great kit.

Labor? what is that?
