Why does my Raptor keep Stalling?
#1
Ok i have like the most anoying problem..my raptor keeps stalling out in the turns..and especially below 1/4 throttle
I have the following mods:
Full Yoshimura RS-3 Race series Pipe with Titanium Canister and stainless steel headpipe
* Dynojet stage 2 jet kit 146 and 148 jets
* Graydon Proline alumunim airbox with K&N 250R style filter with Outerwear sock and airbox lid
* K&N crankcase breather
I thought at first that it may be bad gas...i drained all the gas was running fine then all of a sudden it stared again after about 7 laps at the local track. wheni went home i noticed that my crankcase breather filter was gone. Could that be causing my problem? or isit the Graydon aluminum airbox that is giving me fits?
Please help..thanks in advance

well yes but it also didi this back in july...when it was rather hot..
the guy i bought the airbox from mentionned something about putting spacers under the airbox to shimmi it up a little so that it wouldnt push the carbs down..making the floats unlevel..i dunno... im ready to put the stock airbox back on
Does anyone else run the Graydon airbox? have you had any problems?

Joeyd, glad do see you didn't sell the Rappy!!!!!! If you want I will take the airbox back if you are unsatisfied.
There are 2 mounting holes on each side of the airbox. you can raise or lower the airbox by raising or lowering the mounting tabs by using 1 bolt on each side instead of 2.
But why did it run great before and not now. Bad gas? Bad plug? Dirty filter? Float problem? Valves? Choke?
We will figure it out. Don't wory.

early on I had a problem with the dynojet kit. I would stall out if I let off the throttle when coming to a stop or cresting a dune. it was so long (and mods) ago that I can't remember what I did to fix it. I bet you are lean with the temp drop. Try 148/150 mains and needle in 3rd clip.

2 things...check for a split in your carb boots or your floats need setting. i've had both problems and what you described is what was happening. good luck.

What about your pilot jets? I just put on a pro-flow and no lid with a dyno-jet kit using 148-150 and I'm having the same problem it wants to stall at low speeds i need to blip the throttle to keep it going when I come to a stop. Some one recommended going up to 27.5 pilots when running no airbox lid. I just ordered the jets I'll let you know if it helps.

Apply a little choke and see if the problem gets better or worse. Try too determine exactly what throttle position this is occuring at.....then you know at which fuel circuit the problem lies.
