Am I the only one who doesn't want a super-fast stock sport quad?

Just wondering, but I think that the quad market is fine where it is, for me, I say, there should be no more quads produced, just improvements on old quads. We have every quad we could possibly need, and everyone builds them to fit they're style anyways. To me, it would suck to have a 1500cc Raptor come from the Yamaha factory. If you're the fastest guy out there, then where's the fun? The fun is building the engine, going faster, beating the next guy, but what happens when you've beaten everyone? That's why I think nobody needs a faster stock sport quad. then there would be no fun, no building up the engine, no learning from your mistakes, No trying to beat your friend down the street. Anyone agree?

They will never make the engines as insane as we want them. The progression will ultimately be limited to weight, handling, suspension, and reliablility. Imagine a 2 stroke direct port injection, computer controled, power head 2 cylinder on a super light weight carbon fiber 180lb quad with super light weight kevlar/teflon tires on carbon fiber wheels and the only metal on the whole sucker is the , gears, all the rest super high tech ceramic. The engine may only have 50hp with with a little computer play and porting Voula, but its not gonn a be as easy, have to be smart to do it.

I think even if they built them faster and bigger, we would still modify them to go faster then they come stock.

Faster is better but I agree, It's not what you can buy it's what you can build!

I gave up modifying in the early eighties. It just wasn't cost effective for me.

I keep em all stock.

i like to think about it this way, the raptor and ds came out, they ahve been modded to go waaaaaay faster, back in the days they did that to everything that was smaller engines, then in the future they will have even bigger bore kits, carbs, and everything else bigger and lighter just to go even more faster, so no matter what, they will keep gettin better. now, if they made 1500 raptors, everyone would have them, and they would have to mod them in order to race others, and either waste em, or get wasted. now you can never run out or competitors. there will always be more doing better and bigger things you are. like my friend has a kawasaki H2 750 3 cylinder 2-stroke engine. now come on, that is insane. he just hasnt put it in anything yet, and when he does he's gonna waste everyone. but then there will be someone with a huyabusa engine, with nos, and bore kits, and will waste him, so there will always be bigger and faster quads out there to race, so i think theyshould keep makin them bigger and bigger! i love to go faster and faster, i have not yet reached the point of too fast.

Bigger, badder, louder, faster Its pretty much human nature improve things. Someone is always willing to go a little further than the next guy to be considerded better.

Now as far as a huge dispacement quad coming from the factory most everything that has been swaped from a motorcycle to a quad is detuned. [ Raptor, z400] Reliability being one factor the other is impulse buyers. Do you really want to see Joe Blow who has never rode a quad in his life going out and buying a 1500cc bike. I sure dont even want to be around when that happens theirs enough of these people buying Raptors ect because its the COOL thing and then they get hurt and complain and your riding areas get closed or restricted somehow..
