How hard / easy is it to install a cam?
I'm ordering the Hotcam stage 1 cam this week, just want to know what to expect on the installation.
Any tips, tricks, installation help you guys can provide would be very very helpful.
I've never done one before (on a quad), but if it seems fairly easy.
Thanks

Great directions Bob! You could also get them from the Hot Cams web site. www.hotcamsinc.com click on the instructions. The Raptor is a fairly easy engine to work on so it isn't to hard. I did the Stage 1 in about 1 hour including the cleaning.

How hard / easy is it to install a cam?
Thanks RaptorRRC,
We're working real hard at trying to make the best cams out there, regardless of price. Many of the engine builders have switched to our cams now so, that makes us feel pretty good. It's hard from our position to answer some of the questions on these built engines since that's not what we do but, we do talk regularly with the builders for input so we can get a better idea of the changes in cam timing and such that may need to be done on a bigger bore or stroker engine.
I think our product is very good at this point but we need input for ANY problems with fitment or quality that arise. I've heard a couple complaints of where the pins for the Raptor decompressor won't fit in the hole. One builder has told me the phosfate coating made the hole smaller, I didn't know anything about it until last week and this cam was one of our first marketed. We are currently working on the first complaint of a decompressor pin that got bent. That cam should be here tomorrow for us to look at and we will be able to complete the investigation of the failure then.
Please, if anyone has had a problem, we'd like to know about it, otherwise we can't fix it if we don't know about it. Most of the engine builders take it upon themselves to fix whatever the situation may be and we never hear about it. This is also why I am here at this forum, solicitting complaints. Until last week, I hadn't heard one. Highly unusual, I knew our product was good but........
Thanks again.
