Me and my raptor are having fits...the stupid thing runs great until you get in any rough situation(braking bumps whoops)and then it coughs backfires, seemingly shuts off and then fires again. Problem isn't reduced with a/f adjustments or airbox changes...All I can come up with is to check float levels(why would they have changed) and then start looking for ignition problems...anyone had problems like this....Dare I say I wish I had an ATC185s,my lap times would be faster...

Get some clear tubing same size as the overflow drain tube, put it on the carb then hold it vertical alongside and open the valve on the bottom of the carb (make sure your fuel is on). This will tell you the level inside the float without taking the plastic off, could rule out the problem for you. I think last time I measured mine this way the level was just above the meeting point of the bowl and the carb.

Jay, check your float levels once again (1/2 inch from base) and while you are at it, clean your carbs throughly with some brake cleaner. While the carbs are off, pull on the intake too head boots too make sure there are'nt any rips.
