Default Big Bear 400

Is the Big Bear well rounded? Will it fit me as I am 6'2" 270#? Will it trail ride, hunt, light work (some trees) and will it plow snow? What problems does the atv have? Is the standard transmission the best choice for these uses?

Use mine ('02 Big Bear 4x4) for the same thing (mainly wood) up in Colrain, does everything I've asked of it. Don't know if it will fit you, but don't see why not. Seems to plow snow without much effort. I like being able to choose the gear, but that's a personal preference. Got mine Valley Motorsports in Northhampton for $4700 back in March. Also have heard good things about Baer's in West Springfield and Ronnies in Adams.

our 2002 Big Bear has been an excellent quad so far. we havent had any problems out of it. it should do pretty much anything you ask it to. the only down side to the Big Bear is the top speed. it tops out at 45-50mph according to the speedometer.
hope this helps.

I have a 2001 Big Bear, and it is very well rounded. It is the toughest ATV I have owned and has never had one single problem! It is great for trail riding, and the very little work I do with it. I'm sure it will be great for hunting and plowing since it has an insane amount of torque. The only downside, which is not really that bad is mine tops out at 49 (checked by GPS), which is not bad considering that you dont always ride at that speed on trails. The big bear is more than capable of doing anything you want it too, and it is fun to drive. If you want an even better rounded machine, look at the HONDA Rancher.
