Don't let these guys b/s you. The TB is much better machine. Don't get me wrong, I love my Yamaha but I won't lie and say a Yamaha is the superior machine here.

Pick up the May issue of Dirtwheels (Polaris Haters Mag.). The is a shoot out in there between these two quads. The Trailblazer wins hands down in all catagories but 2 Acceleration and Jumping.

The only thing the Blaster does that the TB won't is catch good air. The TB is 100 lbs heavier. You can't compensate for that. However the acceleration can be made to surpass the Blaster for a few bucks worth of CVT tuning pieces.

Thats funny there was a shoot out in 1998 agatinst the TB and the Blaster in Atv Action and they said the only thing the TB had over the Blaster was that slightly faster acceleration and better brakes, and that it was easier to use. The Blaster won in everything else.

The intial low-end acceleration ain't so good on the TB. Someone who knows how to ride a Blaster could get in front 1st. But a TB would reel it in quickly. A TB with new clutch springs (cheap) would get out of the hole 1st too.

Everyone has an opinion. My biggest beef with the Blaster is you don't get near as much for the money as the TB. It's also for shorty's, women, and kids. When I ride one it feels like I have a @!#$%*! pogo ball under me. It would be ok if it had more CC's, wheel base, reverse and breaks.

99Scram500,

Even FUNNIER, check out http://www.4wheelatv.com/
If you click on Torque you'll find that Dirtwheels and 4 Wheel ATV Action are put out by the same publisher. So, not only do they have conflicting reviews in the same magazine from one year to the next (even though the quads are un-changed) they also have conflicting reviews in the same year, different magizine, same publisher. Maybe they shouldn't have made it known that they do both magazines. LOL!!!

I guess that's how they manage to keep everyone happy and advertising with them. The companies win some and loose some. And if they don't pay big advertisement bucks like Polaris, they seldom et any decient reviews in either magazine!! I'm just surprised the TB even got a half way decient review. I wonder if we'll se a Polaris add soon. Personally I don't think so because they didn't just come out and say the TB won!

The blaster is way better. The blaster is way faster so when I hit the powerband, the TB is gonna be left in the dust. The blasters handling is awesome. I'd go for the blaster. It only costs $3000 and you get all that you need.

I have a comment on this little shootout.

If you pay any attention to some of my previous posts...You will find that I do not like the blaster because of it's size.... But I also own one...along with my banshee, 400ex and warrior.

Alot of the neighborhood kids have the trailblazer 250....

Now after reading the posts above....I see that this is going to nothing but a ' back and forth ' opinion war on which machine is better.... Magazines or not......

My opinion would have to lean towards the blaster....The blaster will out accelerate the polaris in just about every situation from what I have seen.....the polaris just sits there waiting for the automatic to kick in...( I know... clutch upgrade)

The trailblazer is dubbed as a sport machine....But have any of you polaris fans really jumped or raced a polaris? And I'm not talking about 2 ft in the air? ...It is alot of work....and costly upgrades still won't catch it up....It just lacks the Uuumph to go anywhere other than the trails in my opinion.
I mean...really.....You can't even ride a wheelie on the polaris without kneeling on the seat....now is that sporty? (a manual transmission might help...and a diet)

I am not cutting down the polaris at all...it serves it's purpose just fine....The problem is whether you want sporty or comfortable.....a taller rider might like the comfort of the polaris...but lose interest because of the power.....and a shorter rider could easily take the blaster and run circles around the polaris and eventually wish for more size.

We are not pro riders....I feel that I could keep up with or out do most of the riders in the magazine shootouts too..(I know that sounds arrogant..but.)..I wish they would take me up on that. the riders on the polaris machines go as fast as they can at our practice track....and the blasters always come out on top...and usually pretty big.

I know I see alot of them trailblazers at the start line sure.................

Just my opinion....

my blaster could keep up with 400 explorer (2 sroke) before it was broken in and for that matter the same guy who owns the polaris evan admits they dont handel worth crap
and for the matter of a blaster being short people my freind who is 6`2 is comfertable on my blaster
last but not least before i bought my blaster i looked at both and road both i went for the blaster

I raced a Blaster with my Trailblazer with a RCR kit, an daluminum wheels

I beat him no problem in every race we did. I was a few quad lenghts in front of him and he wasn't gaining at all.

We even switched off, and raced a few. The TB still won. Expect a lot more, since i'm 6'0 200 pounds and don't run a clutch alot.

On a oval MX track, he kept getting in front of me on the turns but as soon as we hit the straights and the jumps i was gone. Then he would be past me or almost on the turns and i'd be gone again.

A few times i have gotten 8 feet of air on my trailblazer. I came down hard! but i did it. I have some pictures of me jumping if i ever get my scanner working again.

The Blaster was a 99 with a few mods.
