Well finally after days of rain that got rid of the 8" of snow we had a good day to ride..and race. Unfortunately the friend with the cannondale was a no show! So it was me and the Predator. Let me preface this with my quad has 11-1 piston Stage 1 Cam White Brothers R4 Full Pipe Pro-flow kit No lid!

It was not even close I pulled away and pulled away hard. He said no way it was not even close! We made several wide open runs all the way through 5th gear and by the time I was topped out for a bit I looked back and was between 15-20 lengths ahead.. We were riding down these long wide open dirt roads down Cape Cod MA. We did one straight dead stop drag race and we both wheelied off the line and took off like crap but by the time we hit third gear he said there was no way he could get me, I was slowly pulling more and more.

Let me also say the Predator is Sweet. Nice suspension, it is heavier than a Raptor but feels more like a 400EX when riding, it feels very light. It handles the whoops great and the suspension soaked up everything. All in all if I were to recommend a stock bike this would have to be it. I liked it better than the stock Raptor! It felt very light and stable. Negatives were the hard seat and not a strong bottom end but it rev's so quickly you are not there very long.

We both had a great time! He is very happy with the Predator, he traded in a piped and jetted Raptor for it. He said the shocks are much better and it handles much better Very Stable! He did not expect to beat me but he had hoped to do a little better after hearing all the stories going around. He thought it felt speed wise very close to his piped and jetted Raptor. I felt the same.

Well sounds good. but let the crying begin. Everyone is going to say how your bike is not stock and it wasnt fair boo hoo. Like other machines the Predater is a verry good bike and if you own one congrats.

 

That is why up front I said mine was done up. I wish we had a stocker there but we didn't so ya run what ya brung!

I went to the seattle Cycle World bike show last night and finally got a look at the predator, it's smaller than I expected. In all the magazines they make it look at least as big as a raptor but it's more z400 size... I'm waiting to see how the new Kawasaki 700 does in a straight line, it should be a hellava good dune bike! Attention all dune shooters> 700cc twin, BIG paddles, and an automatic...

 

Oh I agree with ya Raptorrider660r about run with what ya brung. I was speaking for all the Polaris riders who will chime in about not having a stock bike.

Was the Predator broken in?

 

My friend ordered his predator about 3 weeks ago and i am shore it is broke in and he riders the hell out of it and we raced my raptor is all stock except the rims and tires, bumper and grill i was surprised when i out ran him atleast about 7-10 atv lengths but i don't know how it handles yet i have not rode it

 

Yes it was broken in. I cannot picture a stock Raptor killing the Predator. I would think it would be a pretty good race, My brother has a pretty much stock DS that was about even with my Raptor before I did the work, he wants to run the Predator too just to see how close they are, I think it should be a close race.

today we went out and did some ice racing for practice (first time with me its was lots of fun[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]) and the guy we went with brought his trailer and he pulls out his new predator along with his moded 250rs so anyways my uncle rode the pred he didn't think it had as much power as my dads piped and jetted raptor (which now has a high compression piston head porting and new cam) the rap still needed some work so we didn't get to compare but going buy what he rode the raptor before the new stuff he didn't think it had power of a rap. the only think is that on 4strokes you don't seem to be going as fast as you are compared to our shees thought id just let you know what he thought from the sounds of it preds have 45hp stock cause its not detuned so much as a rap from what i read and piped raps have like almost 50 right so im thinking that a piped rap vrs piped pred is going to be close but once you go to porting, high compression piston big bore... the rap is going to pull away with the extra cc jmo
