Default holes in banshee frame!!

the other day i was inspecting my frame and noticed a couple of holes in the welds. They have some rust around them too. I am rebuilding the top end after christmas break, and was pondering the idea of stripping the whole thing down, fixing the holes, and repainting the frame.
My questions are:
What should i fill the holes it with? Just get them welded over or what?
And howmuch do you think powdercoating will cost for a frame?

Strip the frame down and grind the area with the holes down as best as possible to get to the remaining good steel. Then get the holes welded up if they aren't too big. If they are quite large, you may need to reinforce your frame around that area. That should fix the holes!

Theer just little holes, not even the size of a dime. I was jut worried becausei ride at Pismo beach all the time and i don't think salty sand will do the insideof te frame anygood. LOL
Thanks for the info, looks like i am gonna strip it all down!

A hole the size of a dime is huge if you are speaking of a quad frame. I am thinking a small hole about the size of a needle.

Sounds like you need heavy duty reinforcement.

Can y0u paint over JB weld?
Also wen i said a dime i couldn' think of anything else close to the size of it. There is only one "big" hole(not as ig as a dime, maybe about the size of the head of a medium screwdriver.) and i would think a couple of smaller ones.

If you think it is strong enough then you could fill the hole with JB Weld or several other epoxy resins. You might have better luck with the more solid forms that are like putty. JB Weld can be pretty running until it starts setting up.

You can sand and paint any of the epoxy resins including JB Weld.

Personally, I would get it welded and then grind and sand it smooth. JB Weld will not give you much strength.

I agree, just say no to JB weld. Also it might just be me but I have had VERY bad luck painting frame parts.

I have a friend with a welder and he is pretty good at it too. i just asked him today if he would weld me p some holes and he said ya so thats not a problem anymore.
I don't hink i am gong to totally repaint the frame, just touch up al the stuff that is bare or rusted. I don't have enough money to get the whole thing powdercoated . O well.
