Need some help with jetting
#1
I'm pretty new to quads, so I could use some help and advise.
I have a 01 Raptor (trans hasn't gone yet) with a WB R4 (silencer only). I still have the stock jetting and air filter although I am changing to an after market foam filter. Once I get the new filter, what would be the best jetting and airbox set-up. The elevation here is about 1000 feet.
What is a stage-1 and stage-2 jet kit?
Would dial-a-jet be good?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just put in a GYT-R jet kit and i am running with lid off,I think the best way to run the raptor, and I have 170/175 main jets ,Havent ran them yet but i think that's best for the elevation and cold weather im in..LEt you know..P.S make sure who ever puts it in that they know what they are doing...

airrap we just put a new jet kit in 03's quad, starting rich and working our way down. I had the 160/165 in mine and was getting white spots on the base ring when doing a chop test at WOT.

Hey Starky. The dial a jets are still kind of up in the air, some people like them some don't.
Do you hit much mud/water? The aluminum air boxes are nice if you need an air box, they are larger and don't cause the turbulence problems that the stocker does with out the lid.
