Thanks for the info.

However, how does the Polaris Predator 500 compare to the Yamaha 660R Raptor?

What is the MSRP of the 2003 Polaris Predator 500?

Okay, I just got back from looking at the graphs and all at Polaris' website. According to the graphs, it seems the Polaris Predator 500 would kill the Yamaha 660R Raptor! The Predator has better acceleration and a higher top speed, according to the graphs. Is this true or just marketing?

Secondly, what is "bump steer?" According to Polaris' website, the Predator has virtually no bumb steer while the Raptor does.

In the real world, how does the Predator's acceleration, top speed, and handling compare to the Raptor's?

Kain,

Let me ask you a question.

What brands do they carry in U.A.E.

Do yourself a favor and look at the Bombardier DS 650.

The engine should be well supported where you are since it has history in the BMW F650.

I think the Raptor, DS650 and Predator would all be good choices.

I own a Raptor in addition to the DS and I wouldn't trade my DS for it on the sand / desert. I am sure there are others that would say differently (especially on this forum.)

The Raptor has reverse wihich is nice for a novice. The DS is wider and more stable which is good for a novice. I have not ridden a Predator so I won't comment on it.

From what I understand, the Predator somes stock with higher compression and more aggressive cams which give it more power but, less potential. The Raptor and the DS are monsters with cams and higher compression pistons (as well as aftermarket pipes.) If you don't ever see yourself changing anything, the Predator just may be faster stock - depends on who you believe on the forums.

im 20 yrs. old, 5'10" and 135lbs. and the raptor is my first quad, i had no problems with it being my first quad. any of the quads listed would be good for you, but you may want to consider the raptor, predator, and DS more than the z400. the handling of the raptor isn't as bad as people make it out to be, i do not plan to upgrade my handling/suspension. since this is your first quad, you make want to research all you can, and test ride all that you can. which ever one u get im sure u will love it. you can get the raptor and predator for about the same price, i got mine for less than most people are paying for their predators, but the DS is more expensive. The raptor has the most upgrade market available, along with the banshee.

All you need to do is put an extended axle on a Raptor and it will handle better. Definatly go with the Raptor if you are going to be playing in the sand.

Someone made a good point!

You may want to buy what is readily available.

What dealers are located locally?
