Default Crank gear stuck on Banshee!

I recently got a new Hot Rods crank and I had to tap on the primary drive gear and woodruff key on the clutch side and they wouldn't fit right. So the key bent and mushroomed, and the gear is stuck and won't come off even with a puller. What should I do?

Take it to a machine shop and have it pressed off. Have the gear and new key pressed back on. They might charge a little but it is sure to be cheaper than a new crank if you mess it up beating on it.

Should any local machine shop do this for me?

Yeah, all it takes is a shop press. A lot of auto repair shops have presses also. It is a large stand with a bottle jack. You pump the jack and press the crank downward and the gear will sit stationary on arbor plates. Works great. Just go to the nearest shop and ask if they have a shop press or if they know who might. Then ask them to press it off. Should take about 30 seconds.
