-homemade tach-
#1
ok,
i was searchin ebay and found an atv tach by highlifter, they want 140$+ for it. it sez its for all 4 stroke bikes and that it just hooks into a few wires for the cdi, as far as i see all its just a small 12v standard car tach with a mount made for it. i have a bunch if small tachs by autometer that work off 12 volts, im just wondering if i can make one work, if i make a mount for it i dont understand why it wont work. but i need to know what wires i need to hook the feed up to any help would be great.
thanks
ryan

I'm just talking a guess here, but wouldn't the colored wire on the tach connect into the main wire comming out of the ignition coil, and the other one to ground? And if it has a light in it, one to positive wire. If you have a kill switch, it hooks up to the main ignition coil wire, I would think it goes in the same place. Does anyone know if that's right?
