2003 450 kodiak cut's out in reverse
#1
I just picked up a Kodiak 450. I installed a plow on it and every thing seems to work great. I'm wondering if there is a speed govener in reverse, due to the fact that I noticed the engne seem's to limit the reverse geer speed to 15 klm / hr. When you are plowing snow and reversing to take another run at the pile, above 15 klm/hr, the engine sputters. Is this a problem with a bad ignition or is it a safety design?

I've noticed the same thing with my 2003 Grizzly. It sputters a tad when I gun it in reverse as well.
Glad to know it's a universal thing

Bypassing it is good for the mud, because when you're stuck it cuts in and dosen't spin fast enough. But if you were on a road with good traction i wouldn't want to go any faster because it's very twichy in reverse (the stearing)

Your rev limiter in 4wd diff lock is set at about 22mph.
I also want to point out that these are rev limiters that work off of rpm not speed. So you can hit them if your clutch slips and your motor revs up. Like when you wheels are stuck in the mud and won't turn.

You know I was going to respond to that, but I didn't know what to think about the kinda person who would post that. So I thought it would be in my best interest not to. I beat I wasn't the only one neither.
Man, you've got to get her back, FAST! HA HA!
