i got a 96 warrior, as i mentioned in another reply. here's the deal. when i turn the key on, there's no electric start, neutral light, or head/tail lights. so i have to jump the solenoid to start it. so i know the battery is good. when it's running, there's no neutral light unless the lights are on. and sometimes, if it's running, i hit the electric start (i know it's bad for it, but atleast it works), and i can hear the starter motor spinning. and when it's running, and the lights are on, they go dim when i give it gas. when it idles, the lights are normal brightness. when i give it any gas, the flicker and get dim. this is really frustrating me. and i cant afford $45/hr to have it fixed by a shop, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

sounds like a blown fuse.the one in the rubber plug above the tire on the sprocket side.that's what I'd suspect first anyway .....

the fuse isnt blown. maybe i should jus buy a new one anyway. someone told me it cold be blown down where i wouldnt see it visibly. is that true? could i just touch the two parts together and see if it will work, or will that ruin something too? thanx.

Sounds to me you either have a bad solenoid or a bad fuse. The fuse is cheaper I would change that first. My warrior had the same deal and it was the fuse. But if yours not blown I would check the connection in the fuse boot the wire may have come undone.
I would also check all the wiring for chaffing. you could have a bare wire that is grounding out.

the fuse in it was bad. the little piece of metal was broken off on both ends. so i replaced it and it still wasnt the problem. so atleast i got some of it. so now i gotta try and try again.

well, now here's the deal. the fuse helped with the lighting problem. for some reason, when i turn on the key, the lights will work without it running. and they dont get dimmer when i give it gas. so that's good. but the electric start and revere still dont work. im gonna have to take it to the shop. i just got $120 back in tax returns, so that should help.

check the connections comming from the start button all of the way back to the solenoid, or just do something that might help u even better, check all of the connections and wiring. i have a wire rubbing somewhere on my twolf and right now i dont feel like looking for it, but it least it still runs. i hope this helps u.

I have the same problem with my 95 wolverine, I have a bad wire between the key and the solenoid. It's to much of a headache tracking it so i just bump start it.

I would think that you hold up the shift lever and push it down a hill and release the lever.
