Contact your state attorney generals office, regardless of what your dealer or Yamaha say or tell you. Don't take for granted what the dealership or Yamaha are telling you is worth a nickel, find out for yourself. Your state attorney general's office will give you the only information that counts when it comes to what rights as a consumer you have in this situation, certainly not your dealer or Yamaha. You should be able to find there phone number on the internet.

thanks buckwheat, thats what i did, and he told me to get something in writeing from yamaha, and that was not easy, she "yamaha" told me to have my lawyer call them. i told them i was sueing them myself in small claims court and i needed the info, she put me on hold for about 15 min. and said she would send out the paper work saying yamaha did make a mistake on the frames, and that this is all they will do to fix it. "cutting off the mount and rewelding them" i think with this and my sevice papers showing i have had it in for this 4 times now, that i should have a pretty good case

YAMAHA FIX YOUR MISTAKE!!! and no, i'm not going to let you cut my machine up, i think you should replace it

4X4 Ducky, what is the name of your dealer that you have been working with and that has posted on this site?

Correct me, but if Yamaha has really instituted a fix for this frame problem they would have issued a TSB (techinal service bulletin) to outline the steps for the dealer to following ensure a proper and accurate fix to meet Yamahas guidelines. Ask Corporate Yamaha about whether a TSB bulletin was issued and the number.

Does anyone here have access to TSBs for Yamaha products?

I don't think my 450 has been affected and I hope not. It doesn't seem to be to be unlevel but I'll check. I wouldn't want them hacking away at my frame and rewelding it. if this is the case I'll ask my dad for a possible trade in on a 2002 raptor or banshee

Glad I could help. I hate to see anyone get the run around. It sucks to go out and pay hard earned cash for something and then be treated rotten afterwords. They shouldn't expect you to lay down $6000 for a defective product, which it sounds like is what you were given. I hope everything turns out well for you.

MNRAP, i am fileing papers on them today, what dealer did you buy your machine from??? can use all the help i can get,,,
you my be the only help i can get on this problem, they "yamaha" really don't want to talk about it, and i'm sure i'm not the only one with one of these machines...

LOOK AT YOUR 03 450 ON LEVEL GROUND AND SEE IF YOU HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, i'm sure there is more out there than we all know about, most people would not think to look for something like this.

kodiak still running fine, 1300 miles, never did take it in for the "FIX" still sits 1 1/2 lower on the right side. it does slide better to the left than it does to the right, going to have to live with it i guess... now i have a 03 wr450 with starter and flywheel problems... YAMAHA!!! back up your mistakes!!!
