Default 2001 Raptor Front Shocks

Has anyone with a 2001, or for that matter and Raptor, had the front shocks blow? My friends blew from what we now figure two rides ago, and neither ride was very long. We figure they blew when the choke started acting up. He saw some oil on his a-arm skid plates, but thought it was from the oil line that he knocked off. We know better now, cause when you push down on the front end, there is NO resistance at all. He inverted them before the two rides ago, and we were wondering if that was the problem or if they were faulty. He is going to see if they are covered under the warrenty, and of course we put the shocks back to origional. If they arn't covered, sugestions about what kind of aftermarkets would be appriciated, and he isn't a rich man!!! Thanks in advanced.

Maybe, maybe not.

I don't like seeing back to original, so maybe not.

What type of warranty did the friend have?

i bought the works triple rate shocks and am very happy with them.today the shocks got quite a workout on the whoops at the oregon dunes in florence oregon where i ride.these are the triple rate without reservoirs and they cost about 360.00 and are way superior to the stockers .i am sure that some of the more expensive models by elka and other companies are better but are they worth twice the cost?from what i have experienced with this particular shock if you are going to use the stock a arms they are a good choice IMO.

one of my front shocks started leaking oil after almost a years riding. I bought a set of good used ones from e-bay for less than the price of one new one.
funny thing, i still have the factory shocks on the front of my 86 250R and they have never leaked.
