Why doesn't Glamis just blow away?
I don't know about Glamis but the dunes at Little sahara have moved about 2 to 3 miles North from the river since 1900 (I looked at some history of the dunes at a museum there)
I hadn't been to sahara in 20 years when I got my Raptor & I had been going for about 10 years before that, I didn't recognize anything when I went back the first time!!

We have pondered the same question while sitting on the top edge of a big bowl during beer breaks.......seems the really big bowls and hills pretty much stay around but the little stuff really moves around. From the air the ISD looks pretty small and there are about 5-6 valleys that run between all the big dunes. I'm sure it "shifts" overall but seasonal changing wind direction makes it a very slow process. Just a guess - but after 13 years of riding the dunes I can always find certain landmarks that seem to be in the same place......!?
It's the best riding around !
