I was here! I started ATV Connection in 1996. There was one other ATV site (a personal site) that Dave Dosset made, so this was the 2nd ATV site (first professional site) there ever was. We had the first ATV chat room, first forums, first ATV email discussion list, etc... I had no idea what I was doing! *chuckle But I did know that I wanted people to be able to chat with each other and talk about our sport so I built these things into our site right from the start.
I remember sitting at the computer and waiting for 11:00 PM in the evening to arrive so that I could get the last count for the day on how many people visited our site. I nearly jumped up and down when 25 people had been to our site in one day! 25 people and it was exciting!
We were so far ahead of everyone that most companies at that time didn't have a web site, didn't figure they would ever have one and many didn't even know what the Internet was or what a web site was. There were a few companies like Trinity racing, Rick Ritter and savantmfg that were saavy and had good foresight and were early to adopt the web--they've been with us since the early days.
Many of our first readers are still with us.
And of course Greg Hall, Ray Sedorchuck and Mike Lyon are our wonderful editors who have been with us since the beginning. They deserve a lot of credit for their hard work in making the magazine what it is today. Everything you see was a team effort.
James Graham joined us a few years after we started and he has made our chat room the best on the net and has turned out to be a great writer and team member.

dbeck...I know you get this a lot, but I think I can speak for other readers when I say..THANK YOU!!! I have been on ATVConnections for about 4 months now. The advise and opinions from other riders and racers is extremely valuable. Advise like suspension set-up, exhaust, tires, etc.. you can't get from a dealer or repair tech. The only other way is when riding and approaching other riders and talking. I have learned and continue to learn about the Raptor day after day. You did a wonderful service to the quad community!! So again, thank you for feeling that something like this needed to be set up!! And also, thank you to all the forum junkies that help guys like me and every other rider fix their toys up right and keep them running!!
