i am having engine problems. i was riding from my uncles house to my on my t-wolf, which is not even a 1/4 mile apart. i was almost home, i was running 5th gear at full throttle and i was almost all the way home and the engine started to try quitting on me. what could it be? i thought mabey could my rings be worn out and it is building up oil and taking up and not letting enough fuel/air mix in. or could my CDI unit be out. any suggestions are welcome! i need all the help i can right now, it has been like this for about almost a year now, and i really want to get it fixed soon! PLEASE HELP ME!!! THANKS!!!

With my warrior, if im wide open in 6th gear it will seem like it has popped out of gear. I was told this is some kind of built in rev-limiter. I don't know if this is the same problem, but if it is I was told it is normal.

I would start by changing the plug and cleaning the carb good. If anything thats a good start.

check your float level, it could be too low, this can be done without removing the carb. !!

i bought a new plug for it about a month ago and that is when it was doing it also. i cleaned the carb with carb and choke cleaner. before i restarted it back up i filled tthe float bowl up with carb and choke cleaner and that helped a lil bit. a friend told me that he thinks it might be my CDi unit or rev. limiter, or both. but i will try changing the fload level. but please keep giving me suggestions because i need all of them that i can get. i will let u know if changing the float level helped out or not. i probally will change it tonight and i will let u know by sometime tomorrow. Thanks!!!

My 300EX cuts out at top end as well. It just starts kinda hesistating and sputtering. I have been told that I need to re-jet or that my revlimiter is kicking in. I think its the rev-limiter cause it sounds just like if I was trying to back up to fast.
Try putting it in reverse and running it full out till the rev-limiter kicks in, if its the same type of cutting out thats your problem.

yes that is the exact same thing mine is doing, but it never did it before. i serously thing my rev limiter is shot. i checked my flow level it turned out to be ok. i pulled the plug and regapped it at about 4 thousands lager. helped very little. i also ran into a new probalem tonight. throttle jamming up, and i hadnt even drove through water with it yet. it nearly took me through 2 barbed wire fences twice, scared the s*** out of me! and i dont have any brakes so i have to get me a set sometime soon. when it would jam up if u took and shifted up into the highest gear it would unjam its self or if u kill the engine it will unjam its self right after u kill it. it is really starting to p*** me off!!!

Yeah that is probably your rev limiter. It isn't as noticiable in 5th like it is in reverse.
