what are nerf bars used for anyways. is it only when you jump that your foot slips ans so you wont roll over your foot with the tire(doesnt make sense one bit)

Protects you from getting "T"-boned.
Keeps others wheels/tires from getting in between yours and flipping somebody.

2fun and quadwarrior...your both right! If you notice any freestyle riders, you will see they all have nerf bars. Like 2fun said, in racing its to keep track goons from flipping you, and also when you get big air, your feet sometimes leave the pegs. Having the bars will keep your feet pointing the right way if you miss the pegs on landing.

I was once jumping my warrior over the peak of a 20 foot hill and landing on the downside of it, felt great. One time i leaned back too much and hit back end 1st, it slammed the front end down, and my foot slipped off and went under the foot peg (ow) I tore some stuff in my ankle. Wish i had those Nerfs
