Default need info on cam, piston and head work????......

I am not sure that my transmission is screwed but i think it probably is so where is the best place to order all the parts? Is alba cheaper than yamaha? I also want to get a piston and cam. I think i will go with like 10 3/4 or 11 to 1 compression and not sure which cam. Thinking about the race cam cause all i do is mostly drag race. I also want to get head work, any suggestions on where to send it. Thinking about sparks or friend told me to try 4 stroke tech. Any info will help please. If i have to do the tranny i might as well do the piston and cam too.
Thanks Rudy

Rudyraptor- Forgo the 11-1 and get the 12-1 piston. In the big picture race gas will not cost that much per year over super unleaded. Most 11-1 need a little race gas from time to time. Stage 2 cam with kibblewhite springs or web 736/737 or a mega cycle 280x3. The Hot cams stage 2 is the cheapest of the 3 and best performing. You do not lose much bottom end. As far as headwork goes all the shops charge close to the same amount. Trinity gives good head according to airraptor, although Sparks won FSW's 2 years in a row hands down competing against Trinity's best. I have really never seen any of Powrolls work but they have been doing it for a long time. Mickey dunlop of FST has been featured in many magazines over the years. The quads he builds generally dominate the classes they are in. My cylinder head was done by Craycraft. I am real happy with it (67HP 12-1, stage 2, springs 686) but i no longer recomend them cause they are doing to many just like mine. the raptor head is not as tricky as some would lead you to believe on here although the HP varies alot from buider to builder. Everyone essentially uses the same JE pistons, Kibble white springs, cometic gaskets and web or Hot cams. That said i guess head porting is important. I have found that the guys on here that have a automotive racing background or use shops that are automotive based(race) seem to have faster raptors. Chose wisely and ask alot of questions. I am sure that others will chime in and give there opinions. I would also check to see if the cam chain is stretched.

Rudy- LOL, i was typing it that way to keep airraptor happy. He is pro Trinity and they do okay but you can easily get more out of the head withouit stessing it any more than they do. Trinity was first on the scene to do the 686's. They do not seem to have continued to do R&D and are lagging behind. I had a trinity and sold it. I talked Bob into getting his brother to start doing this. His first motor was far superior to mine. One thing led to another and Craycraft racing was born. (for atv's) His brother has been doing cyclinder heads as his sole source of income for over 30 years. They are running a couple week turn around.
