Do a search on sprockets and you will have more info than you know what to do with!

Default Raptor front sprocket

I have a 12 (1 down) tooth front sprocket and 42 (up 2) tooth back sprocket and it really helped my acceleration and hill climbing power in the sand. I set up my raptor for acceleration more than top speed but overall i think it made pretty good difference. hope this helps
