sfehr....get a raptor. its a great all around machine and atleast its been around for 3 years. all the quirks were worked out except for starter and there are much more aftermarket companies working to make your raptor even better. The predator is still only starting out.

 

How big are you? I am not a small feller so I went with the biggest motor. I do like the looks of the predator though, but as the 01 raptor guys will tell you NEVER BUY THE FIRST MODEL YEAR!!!! Good luck!

 

i went to the river sands last weekend and there was 3 predators and none of them wanted to go to the dragstrip. Funny the guy that rode with them on a 2001 Raptor went and we had some good races! They look cool though!?!?

 

The rappy is a lil better quad, at least i think. the predator lacks some niceties that the raptor has, and in order to keep the Raptor from tipping so easily, just change the back tires. the stock ones are real baloonish and like to fold under, just like the stock blaster. I'd go with the Raptor. that extra 160 cc's couldn't hurt either [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

Although It is not yet proven that the preditor is reliable.......What ARE YOU THINKING????? are you guys saying that RAPTORS ARE RELIABLE???? please!! Anything is more reliable that the rap. If you are gonna drive a raptor down trails, it'll be very reliable, but if you plan on drag racing.........Race down to your dealership to get repair parts....as far as i know the 02's still haven't fixed many of the problems like...connecting rods, clutches, one way bearings, oil rezzys, ect. anyway, not to say i don't like the raptor...it's GREAT ...when it's not broken [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Are you just assuming, or is this your known fact? THE 02' and 03' raptor are EXACTLY the same machine. Not with the 01' ....why can't you see?

 

The 03 ones are at least better in the quirks. I know somebody in the yamaha business and i talk to him often, that's how i KNOW

 

Then ask him, how many 01 tranny parts were ordered and bought and how many 02 tranny parts were ordered and bought. That will tell you how many 01 trannys have failed. I still want to know this answer. I've had more than my fair share of problems but I still love my Raptor. I'd also own a Predator if I could.

 

03 Raptors have lower 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears to make it more happy on the trail and so the clutch does not need to be slipped as much.
