Go with the Toomey pipes, you can't go wrong. I just bought a set off of ebay and can't wait to try them out.

Default Single Carb on Banshee Question

It sounds alot like the Formula 1 cars. It has a little higher pitch then a toomey but sounds like it is reving so much higher cause of the single pipe. If I ever get a Banshee agian I will go with this set-up cause I really liked the way that pipe made lots a SMOOTH long power for the banshee. Not a big"hit" like the toomeys(which is fun, but gets OLD after awhile),instead, just a REALLY strong pull from bottom to top.

For a MXer,or a trail rider, I would think it would be perfect!! But I would also like it for the dunes.

Default Single Carb on Banshee Question

Well batoutofhell said I would be better off with the t5's. He told me the t5's have excellent torque. I was just wondering if they will work good with the single carb deal. I'm sure they would, But just want to get some more info from all you guys.

Default Single Carb on Banshee Question

I think I said the T5 has excellent power, but what do I know.

No really, I like the T5 pipe alot. I dont care for the look of the T6, but that is personal opinion, and if the power is better who really cares.

I have some cpi's I am going to try out on my new machine. I would not hesitate to buy T5 again, but I think the cpi will give it a run for its money.

However, it appears you are more interested in low to mid range power, the T5 is definately a top end pipe. I am a duner and I am most likely never below 4000 rpm, unless idling or putting through camp.

With the intake setup you are talking about, I believe it is more for low to mid power. Probably great for mx, and trail riding. But none of the fastest banshee's that I know of are running a single carb. I would guess there is a reason for this. But I dont know first hand.

Most of the builders I have talked with have suggested 34-35mm dual carbs for a good dune port job motor. Some are running bigger (38's) with bigger bores, above 420's.

My thoughts are that when building a bike, any bike, you have to build it to fit your needs. I am a duner, my machines are built to run in the higher rpm. They run well. But if I were into trail riding where torque, or low end power is what is needed, then my machines would need to be setup differently.

I hope I am not confusing the situation, but my opinion is that you cannot get the best of both worlds in one machine. That is why there are so many different parts made for all the machines, setup for different types of terrain dictate what is needed.
