Give me some info derbyking, I'll tell ya if they sent it to me or not. Name or last 5 digits of vin# or both.

Also a month ago they sent me a preliminary letter saying that they might need to get permission from some of the individuals etc. If they didn't give permission for the CPSC to give their info to the public I would not recieve their information. I a while back recieved a follow up letter to my report asking if there were anything to add and asking for permission to give my information out.

Sorry derbyKing, no report was sent to me with that name. I have none from my favorite state of Montana.

You could give them a call and see if you are on record. Or file again. You may be 1 of the 15 that they claim they could not verify the information. I'm sure there are many reports that did not find there way to me. I refuse to believe that only 46 people have filed a complaint to date.

I was hoping to get an accurate number of reported failures. I guess that was to much to ask for.

It sounds like maybe there are some lost reports. I would like to know also, just out of curiousity. I got rid of my 2001, but I feel for you guys stuck with them.

I read quite abit about this issue, so it would seem like there were many more reports of this failure. I also wonder how many people had it repaired, and paid the cost or were under warranty and never reported it.
