Default Water in Oil

The head gasket was my fault.. Craycraft did my headwork, installed my new valves and springs, they did not assemble my engine. I did not use a torqe wrench to torqe the head bolts because I didn't think it was that important. Was this from stupidity ? I think not, more like inexperience. This is my first engine and most all of my knowledge on this engine has come from people on this forum. How many people here could break down their entire engine to replace transmission gears, and have the whole top end worked over.... Wait... let me quess, all of you can. Especially you airraptor, you are the raptor god. I want to be just like you some day. Oh yeah, would your big buddy harry drive over 3 hours to bring you a couple of main jets ? Would he call you long distance just to see how things are comeing along ? I know some guys who would. And thats what its all about, not talking sh*t about others machines.

This has all been a huge learning experience for me. Of course there will be things that get in the way, but nothing that can't be taken care of. I'm 19 years old, took my entire engine apart and reassembled it without anybody watching over me.

Raptar in the end this will be a good learning deal in life. I do comment you on diving in and doing it. Once it is right you will forget all the trouble to get there. Sorry it did not fly the first time. But you do need a torgue wrenck

Can I get a "hell YES!" for Rapta? He did it himself and didn't lose his cool when the vultures started to circle. I wish I had it that together when I was 19. My hat is off to RaptaR660r, he can borrow my torque wrench anytime (as long as he doesn't get too strange about how it's stored:-)

I would think that 4 minutes is just about enough time for the engine to warm, fluids start to expand and start oozing into the crankcase. Yep, the gasket was probably doomed from the installation

RepTar660r,

Don't feel bad, as I'm sure you don't. I'm 41 and it scares the crap out of me to split the cases, I have not done it. The head is as far as I have gone and I haven't removed the cylinder yet. A torque wrench is a must on all areas of the motor.

Don't worry about these remarks, these guys have been going at it for a while. You went to the right place for your work imo and I'm sure Bob has helped you through this problem already as well.

Hope you get it fixed soon.

Well... I bought a torque wrench, a nice one too, was 30 bucks... Spent the night in the freezin cold with winds blowin like 20 mph. Got it all back together finally. Rode around for about 10-15 minutes and everything seems to be good. I didn't ride it hard like it sounded like i did from the last post. I dont think lettin it rev up for a second is rideing it hard. But anyways, thats that.

Airraptor, I dont have anything against you, I'm just trying to hold my own, not take you on.
