did timed runs with half 110 octane race fuel and half pump premium and it ran much stronger

I ran 110 straight in my rap, it ran very fast. I ran a few runs with a friend on a Z400 before and after. The rap blew him away even faster than usuall. I was worried that it would get extra hot, but it ran about the same temp.

Were these strait line runs? If they were around a short course or track I wouldn't be sure of your findings. More room for error in a track or course as in a strait line drag. Race gas isn't suppose to give more power. It just slows the rate of burn so as to not detonate before its suppose to. It will also make your quad run leaner so be careful of that.

I had heard that if once you jetted your Raptor with 91 octane. To change to higher octane it would need to be rejetted to make a difference and run right. Maybe he just wanted to squeeze alittle more $$$ out of me or is he right. I really need to learn how to do it my self.

Every person that was suppose to be in the know that I've talked to includeing the people that put my tranny together and installed my 11:1 piston told me that
1. I did not need to run anything more than 91 octane
2. If I did to use very little of it like 1 gallon to 4 gallons as it will lean out the motor.
This may or may not be true but, The carbon color on my disks on the end of my exhuast pipe were turned clean and carbon free from one weekend of running a 2 gallon to 3 gallon mix of 110 octane and 91 octane. This to me suggests the evidence of running leaner than before. ??

Duneittilludie- I told you i thought you needed more octane.
I wonder how many builders hace actually calculated out the comp ratio. I did have mine done. The 12-1 was actually higher than the listed compression on the piston box. The one thing that i have seen so far in the ATV world- you need to re- verify everything.

Ward,
From what I understand, you get an actual compression reading of your quad. That number tells you what the actual ratio of your motor is.
Example:
170 psi= 10:1
180 psi=10:5:1
200 psi= 11:1
These are just examples and are not even close to accurate. I could be wrong alltogether but, I believe thats whats required.
