Default warrior will not Turn over

For the past 4 months my warrior has not started with the start button. One of the realys in the back (starting curcuit cut off) got ripped off with the chain and the plug was fixed with crimpers. Since that day the button has never worked.

Since the wiring harness was trashed and jerry-rigged it replaced it. Still has the same symtoms. The lights work and a good power supply is in the quad. When you turn the key you can hear a relay click. Pull the clutch in, press the button and nothing happens. I have replaced my silinold 2x in the last 3 months and nothing has helped. I also can no longer hear the starting curcuit cut off rely when i try toi start the warrior. This in my 3rd in 4 months. I did a multimeter test and it turns out that the silonold is not getting hardly any power, but it is getting a lilttle.

I am stumped. My last idea is my CDI is not sending the signal to the Y/B wire that go to the relay. IF that is the case how much would a CDI run for an 87 Warrior? Pull starting this thing is getting old, real quick.

If is will start with the pull start, then your ignition is working. Make sure you have power to the push button switch. You can find this out with a multimeter or a 12v test light. Then make sure you have power thru the switch after you push it. If you do, then check for power at the small contact on the solenoid. If you do, and you have replaced the solenoid twice, then check to see if the starter is working. A quick way to check starter is to take a set of jumper cables and connect them to battery connect black to frame and just barely touch the starter post where the cable hooks to it. If the starter tries to spin, it is probably ok.
If you dont have power to the push button switch, check fuses, or install temp wire from battery for troubleshooting. You can make a jumper from a piece of wire, connect from battery (+) to small post on starter solenoid. That should get you started.

Sorry the dealer is out of the question. They screwed me over 2 to manytimes...

I did not have a chance to run any more test on the warrior today. But i have jumped the starter and it turns over fine. I started to run "jumper wires" from the battery to switches and such but can not seem to get it to work...

looks like it is time to warm the gradge up really good and spend some more time out there.

Yes, early model warrios has a pull start. IT comes in very handy at times. If you want, you can purchase all the required parts at your dealership to make any new modle warrior a pull start as well.

I tested all of the switches and connections with a multimeter... all connections turned out fine. I also 'jumped' the starting curcuit relay. I ran a wire from the R/w to the B/w, bypassing the Y/b that goes to the CDI. The relay is my second one in 2 years. Any other suggestions? I am stumped here.

You might check to make sure all your grounds are ok. Check from ground side of battery to chassis Take them loose and sand the metal under them and sand the terminal ends. Every where there is a ground.
just another idea, good luck

Sure a rappy would be great but with the cost of those beasts comparied to what i got my warrior for is hard to beat... Warrior, $425.... new rappy $6,200.

I did clean up all the grounds when i installed the new harness, then coated them with dielectric grease. To also insure added grounding i attached a battery charger to a shiney part on my frame and on the (+) side of the battery. Hmmm... I am still thinking it may be the CDI not flipping that relay over. If so, OUCH!!!

Is there any way to test a CDI at home. I took mine to the dealership and they did not have the proper plugs for my age of warrior. Thanks agian!

BTW- could the parking brake switch be affecting me in any way? if so how can i bypass it?
