well I see it a might diffrent..if it wasnt for harley, there would not be a long time american bike..but if it wasn't for the japaneese, actually causing harley to compete, it would still be producing the shovelhead, instead of the twin cam 88 balanced motors and the v rod..
it is a good thing..you know that a yamaha roadstar sells for a Lot less $$ than a harley, and the fit and finish is good, no flaking chrome.. (I ride a v4 royal star, wife rides a v star 650) both combined for less than a fatboy or heritage..not a bad choice..

I ride with harleys and hondas, yamaha, and bmw, kawasaki, and they all have good points, it is the folks who can't see the benefits in other brands that have the problems..
(of course I ride with non bike specific clubs, but that is MY choice....)

I can picture it now... they will be made with the same technology thay have used on there bikes for the last 100 years....
The following list will be available from HD for your new Hardly Davidson Quad
Base price MSRP... 15-20K..... About 10-15K over what its worth
Entire bike is Chrome.... and parts cost 10 times more than there worth.... like there bike parts.
60 year old technology incorporated.... Bike travels as fast a Raptor 80... but looks BAD as hell.
Air Cooled... because they havn't realized the world went liquid cooled in the 80's.
They will all weigh around 800 pounds... like there bikes.
They will all have black saddle bags on both sides. ( beer can holder optional )
For the first 50 years the Quad is in production it will leak oil..... like there bikes
100th Anniversary edition quads will come with 100th Anniversary stickers and cost 5k over MSRP
All chrome quad, no plastic, tassels on the bars, 1 leather jacket included with bike purchase.

Please, don't take this personal, but as a Japanese-American I have something to say about the following......
"have a 03 raptor and wouldnt trade it for any other quad but I also have a 01 softail duece that i wouldnt trade for any jap cruiser.I think harley has turned around in the last 10 years and they might be high but they hold there value better than anything out there,I think it would be kick a$$ if they came out with a mean quad to compete with the japs, would i buy on I doubt it but I would like to have another choice if i wanted to buy an american qaud besides polaris."

Besides....Harley Davidson is a company that has been in business for 100 years and the best thing you can say about them is "I think harley has turned around in the last 10 years and they might be high but they hold there value better than anything out there"
The price of cocaine is high too, but it holds its value even better.
