bad bead! bad! bad! bad!

After trying everything to keep my tires on the bead I broke down and ordered the beadlocks for the back of the raptor. Anybody else have as much miserable luck as I did? I ran almost any tire pres you could think of with always the same result.

imo, the trick is to keep about 14-18 psi in the tire over night or so, before you ride, that way they are firmly set, then air them down when you are ready to ride.

Holeshot mx's. I'll try that high pressure overnight theory cause it certainly won't kill me, however even using vulcanizing bead sealer those damn things don't stay put...

Are they new tires and rims? I had the same problem with new tires and rims I had and sent them back and it came out to be a defective tire along the bead. Also a rim will leak along the welds in the middle, if it were defective.

maybe you have bent rims?
another thing occured to me, what pressure do you normally run in your tires?

Only a month old ITP race wheels(strength ring)... I know I havn't managed to bend them yet, I like to run 5lbs in my tires however I'm stuck running more like 10 to keep consistency.

send em back, they should replace them at no charge, I just had this problem with my z paddles too. Just one was bad but they insist I sent them both back.

1.)Break the tires down....(off the bead)

2.)take the valve CORE out

3.)Take the quick disconnect end of the air hose where you ususally plug in an air chuck or air tool and stick it directly on the valve stem and air the tires up until they pop (a loud and sometimes scary pop) onto the bead. (Use WD-40 on stubborn beads)

Always works for me. If this doesnt work..the bead seal on your tires is probably out of line...

Was it the rims that were bad Raptorowner? I'm beading them on a tire machine at work, getting them to bead up isn't as much of the problem as keeping them there.
