If you were going to build a motor which size would you chose? If you were going for max hp what would you chose? For those that have gone to 727 why run pump gas?

It is hard to say, all of those combinations work well. I guess it would have to be the lightest rotating assembly with the most compression.

Or the most NOS or turbo boost!!!

I would go 686 lighter piston and revs faster.

I would put the biggest sleeve I could get into it, then stroke it down to 600. Install all lightweight guts, then set it up to make peak power at 12000 rpms on alcy with possibly a turbo. Now obviously I dont know if any of that is possible because I dont play with raptor engines, but it carries over my general likes, short stroke, and lots O top end.

I've stayed with a 686 not to replace the sleeve. I have had problems with water and oil mixing in other bikes after replacing a sleeve.

Who does the head porting? Come on post the link so we can check it out. I am also looking at some of the same mods and also looking at a few cerimic/polymer coatings for pistons. I am also looking at a lightweight balanced engine with much better breathing.

I think I may follow in suit with the Dodge Tomahawk concept bike...

Get either a 400 small or 454 big block and bolt it up to the frame... dont think the tranny would hold up though.... may have to think about this one for a while [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] LOL

Given proper buildup with respect too bore and stroke....the larger engine will always make more power.
