Kodiak Belt
#5
Maddog75,
Here's something to think about. If you know there's a Yammy dealer near your locations in Utah and Colorado then don't worry about it. However, if your heading out in the sticks, I would buy a belt and have it with you just in case. I've never changed one but I don't think it's anything you couldn't handle with minimal tools if you had to. I'd hate to see you travel that far to have your trip wrecked by a broken belt. That would really suck.
I've never heard of a Kodiak belt breaking or wearing out. I'd hate to find out yours was the first and left you hanging on your trip.
I think someone on the board posted a while back that a belt runs about $100.00 to $125.00. Might be a good insurance policy if your going be somewhere without a Yammy dealer near by.

Brakes on my bikes last about a month. But they are ridden by tourists through the mountains. They get about 800 to 1000 miles put on them a month though. As far as adjustments go if you ride in a lot of mud and sand before you put up the bike for the night rinse off the brakes. We do this after every ride. You would be suprised at how much krap gets built up in there.
