low end bog/hesitation on raptor

Maybe go with 25 idle jets and turn the screws out 2 1/2 turns to three. When you bog you are running lean!
You are saying when it is cold there is no problem only when it warms up in temp.

Well if there is no throttle response when u giev it gas like it doesnt want to go then musters up the courage to start reving it is rich in the mid range. maybe go to 25 pilots jump down a notch on the needle and see how it works. If it was lean it would feel REALLY good and backfire and it would run alot hotter than normal.

IMO...DJ needles are not shaped correctly for removing the lid.
When you remove the lid you increase the air flow more on the top end then the bottom. If you get the top correct the mid/bottom will be rich causing the stumble you are experiencing.
FYI...You can correct this by lowering the needle a position or two. After you lower the needle check the top again...you may have to increase the jet size to get the top correct. Then you may have to lower the needle....and so on and so on....
I use a DJ kit also and plan on playing around with a GTYR kit this summer. Maybe the needles in it have a better shape.
These CV carbs can be tuned very well if you have a dyno, some time and the following.
1. different needle shapes - A/F curve
2. slide shapes and springs - A/F curve speed
3. jets - general A/F mix
The problem is that no one sells a kit that includes all of the above, so we just change the jets because they have the largest effect.

bpotter I did'nt think different slides were available. So far my freind and I have had good results with the GYT-R needles/jet kit.It seems some people have good results with the DJ kit and some don't.Things that make you go hmm.

www.SUDCO.com KY raptor if you want to dive into different needles.

When it warms up your are going to be more rich than when cold, right. This is the problem your having, so lean it out. 25 pilots are going the wrong way. Or am I confused here.
I agree on the needles and DJ kits, my biggest waste of money on my bike yet.

Well I went out today and experimented. I left the main jets alone (148/150) but moved the needle position instead. It was set on the third notch from the top to start. I raised the clip to the second position from the top and tried it. It bogged worse and even hesitated into 3rd gear. I then returned and moved the needle to the 4th position from the top and tried it. The hesitation was almost gone and throttle response was way better. I figured it was running rich causing the hesitation, but raising the needle leaned it a bit, right? Give me some comments, please. Should I ditch the dj kit, and go to mikuni mains and stock needles?

No sir I do not have any pictures as of yet. Its at my moms house on jack stands. I plan to hit it pretty hot and heavy this coming up summer and try and get it running.
I plan to install a 406SM with a 6" rod, 3500 stall converter, turbo 350 tranny, and the list goes on etc.
Damn I hope I won the lotto tonight!!
