MY FRIEND HAS A KODIAK AND I HAVE A 400FOREMAN AND WE ARE ALWAYS DEBATING ON WHICH ONE SERVES BEST AS A UTILITY QUAD AND WHICH ONE IS MORE DEPENDABLE.

Well You know where you are. The Yamaha forum right?
I tell you. The Honda is no peice of junk for sure.
But I got to have my Kodiak. No shifting, disc brakes, 2x4 or 4x4.
I almost purchased a Rancher. Man! That was close!

The foreman is a fine machine, but after this past weekend of riding, Im glad I have the Kodiak. No shifting and it handles much more like a sport bike than does the Foreman. It has more than enough power for climbing and pulling a very moderate load. I have been a BIG RED man for many years but Im glad I had enough unbias to try the Yamaha brand, I really like it. Im really impressed with the way this bear handles in 2wd and 4wd is also very managable. Ride'm both and then decide which style suits your needs most.

I'M VERY HAPPY WITH MY KODIAK.I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A BIG FAN OF HONDA,BUT THEY DON'T OFFER WHAT I WANT.I LIKE THE DISC BRAKES,LIQUID COOLING, AND AUTO TRANS.I'VE BEEN RIDING MY KODIAK FOR ABOUT 7 MONTHS WITH NO PROBLEMS.I THINK THEY ARE BOTH VERY DEPENDIBLE.

Thats a tough call, I almost purchased a Kodiak but opted for the Rancher. If those were my two choices, I would pick the Kodiak, its a newer design. Honda hasn't updated the 400 in few years. I liked the way the Kodiak handled. The Kodiak will be faster, better turning & handling.

Really either way you can't go wrong! These are the two best manufacturers out there.

I think the Kodiak is probably the better of the two bikes. I own the rancher and would rather have it then a foreman 400. I think you'll find the kodiak is more sporty and has better features. I would be difficult to get a more dependable quad then the foreman but I'm sure the kodiak won't let you down either.
