Default 02 Big Bear tires

Hello everyone.
I am thinking about getting some new tires for my bear. I have pretty much decided that I want the ITP 589's. Does anyone know or has anyone tried to put the 26's on a stock rim? If not I thought that I might go with the ITP C-series rims but I am not sure on what Offset. I know that the Big Bear has low gearing so I am not concerned with power loss, as long as it isnt too noticeable. I do not want the tires to rub when I turn or load the racks heavily.
Anyone who can help or has some info on this subject it would be appreciated.
Thanks again.....Michael

I have a 02 Big Bear with 27x9.5x12 fronts and 27x12x12 rear Vampire tires and a lift kit of course. I would think that 26s would fit fine. I see no power loss with mine unless i'm in real sticky mud. No rubbing and great ground clearance. My engine is still stock incase you were wondering.

Honda4ever, I was planning on getting 26' 589's for my 2003 big bear but if i got 27's and a lift you think that would cause alot more breakage to my machine such as cv joints? I really wnat to avoid major breakage such as those because those are so expensive for atv's! there so cheap for cars though? lol

ya i hear ya i bought my tires pretty expensive. kinda my mistake. i just recently put an fmf megamax 2 exhaust on a week ago and a jet kit and notice a difference in low end. I just ripped a cv joint as well while i was trying my new stuff out. New one should be here in the morning. But i think its cause i was in a cypress swamp and i was knocking trees and brush over as well. But nothing else so far towards breaking. I think either way you put it if you don't have aftermarket stick guards (stock are lower) i think your cv boots will rip anyways even if they do rip when you lift an atv. But its been a year since i ripped one. and i've had my bike for 2yrs.
