Default Help Convince My Wife!

Yea...another score for real men...sounds like you may stay out of the 50%+ of people that can sit around and talk about their Ex. The only problem you may have now is when she comes back and tells you that your family needs a bigger house to hold all the toys.
Remember, Dylan is going to need a quad in 4 or 5 years..........
Isn't that cool to think about

Default Help Convince My Wife!

but what I want more is to look back some day when we are old and gray and talk about all the memories we made together
MANY of you husbands, and I use that word VERY loosely, need to re-read this! I don't understand how some of you are married.

BLAZIN (sorry to single you out but this just really stuck in my head) So she would rather a GT than a neon, wouldn't you? The way I see it, of course this is just my opinon, is marriage is a two way street. So you make most of the money, thats great. Soo use it on soemthing to make you both happy. If she's happy you will be happy too, and if your happy then....you get it.

I wish I was in a postion where I could bring my wife with me. Our time is very limited together because os my work. If she could go riding with me, and enjoy doing it being the key, then it would solve a very big problem...TIME. WE get ride time and WE get good quality, fun time together. Its a win win sitch I Ation my brottha. Of course this is assuming you like your wife.

If you are married you will understand it. My wife wants a Mustang GT and we have 2 kids, 4 yr old daughter and a 2.5 year old boy. Do you think I want her out driving this thing and getting caught in the snow? I had an older Mustang 1983 GT T-top which I built a motor for it(drag raced it at the local strip, best time was a 14.2 in 1/4 mile). She could not drive it without squelling the tires on take off and I really don't want anything to happen to her and the kids. If she wanted a small SUV or a crew cab truck or even a car like a Subaru WRX or SRT-4 Neon I would be for it because it would go in the snow better than a Mustang or RWD sports car(I also had a 1995 Trans AM that I sold because it put the fear of GOD into her when she drove it. I care about my kids and my wife.

I watched The 220 Bayou run over my wife and my heart stopped. When I ran over to her and she was not moving I thought my whole world stopped. That was a felling that I do not want to experience again.

Neon or Mustang? 1998 Plymouth Neon DOHC, stock 150hp = modifications are Kirk racing full length header, Mopar performance PCM, Prothane motor mount inserts, CAI, stock tb bored out to 56mm, 2.5 inch Dynomax exhaust, very free flowing converter, Dynomax Super Turbo muffler, B&M short shifter with shift linkage modified, strut tower braces for front and rear, NGK plugs with Bosch wires. 15.2@92mph .512 R/T with a 2.43 60ft time best time to date.

$5000 totally invested including price of car. $554 a year full coverage ins. $100 a month for a couple more months. 28-32 mpg
$25000 Mustang GT. $1190 a year for full Coverage ins. Around $500 a month for 5.5 years. 17-22 mpg

Yes I am married, and do understand. I guess the first post you made, seemed more to me like you were saying "she can drive whatever I want her too because I make the money". Now from this post I see your point and agree!!!

Sounds like the Neon is pretty quick. Its funny that its Dodge's 2nd quickest car, all stock. You said something about a Subaru, man those things are SEXY!

There's sure been a lot of interesting posts on this - some of the posts from you guys makes me really appreciate the man I have in my life. Relationships are a two way street and ya gotta give a little even if it isn't particularly what thrills you - polariman is getting into snowmobiles and they aren't really what trip my trigger, but if he enjoys it, so be it and i'm willing to give it a try if he wants me to - and I will know when he wants me to when there's a sled for me sitting in the garage. Makes you feel good when you know your significant other wants you to participate with them. And like ATVgurl said - she and I go everywhere the guys go - (almost - there's times I whimp out and have polariman take my 4 wheeler up a hill I don't feel comfortable doing) but my 4 wheeler is only 2wd and everyone else we ride with is 4 wd so i'm happy with what i've accomplished on it - I also am about 10 yrs older than everyone else we ride with so I sit at the bottom of some of these hills thinking - 2 kids, 2 jobs, a house payment i pay on my own - so then i have to make the decision if it's worth the risk and generally I think not and swallow my pride and let him take it up - I think that's where people get into trouble riding 4 wheelers is when they do something they get the gut feeling they just shouldn't be doing it - I just consider that my exercise for the day climbing up the hill by foot!

ATV gurl - when we going riding again - need to get out and play in this 78 degree weather we are having!

Polarigirl, thats good you appreciate what you have. I have been married 17 years and very happy to have the woman I have. It is always about give and take, with lots of communication. If you can sit down with your other half and do it in a way to show them how important something is to you. How it can be done without putting your family in any kind of hard ship. Then maybe you get what you want. As for climbing that hill that you are not sure about. I have a great wife and 3 kids and I'm the sole income for the family. All I think about is man if I don't make this (since my life insurance has been upped) my wife and kids will be rich.JK.
