this is nothing against a 400ex, but how fast will they go?? a kid i know (like 15 years old) says he has a bored out 400ex and he says that it will do 100 mph. i know that they can be made fast, but how fast. like a 440 or a 425, how fast are they?? just wondering, cuz i think it would be hard to get one to do 100mph but i wanna know for sure?

YOu could probably get one to go that fast but the gearing would be so tall that the quad would be useless anywhere except on a down hill course but good luck trying to get back up[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Quadzilla = 75-80 MPH
Raptor = 70-75 MPH
Banshee = 68-72 MPH
Warrior = 58-62 MPH
Blaster= 50-55 MPH
400EX = 58-65 MPH
Z400 = 63-68 MPH
250R = 63-68 MPH
Tecate 4 = 68-70 MPH

Just boring a cylinder out does not make enough of a differance to warrant much of a speed change if any at all !
Gearing up a stock 400EX or even a bored over 400 EX would yeild you about 80 MPH MAX if the engine could over come that even.
Everyone has to understand that riding a quad at 100 MPH is something 90 % of us will never do simply because of physics and rolling resistance.
The faster you go the more the forces are working against you.
You would need atleast 100 HP to even see 100MPH in the real world .
This should open a can of worms (MY DADDY CAN BEAT UP YOUR DADDY) type stuff.

i totally agree with the prove it part, but b4 i start talken crap on the kid i want to know if its possible. i bought my shee and i'll i've heard is him talken **** on me. he says he'll eat me up and all this other pointless stuff, but i don't know. he says he has like 1500 dollars in the engine, but i don't know what all that can do for a 4 stroke, as i am a 2 stroke kinda guy. anyone else have anyideas oon what his top speed could be?

WHAT ABOUT MY DADDY? 400ex 100mph. When banshees can fly. Even falling off a cliff it would be close but he wouldn't live to tell you about it. $1500 dosen't get you much if have priced the cost of mods. But I'm just a raptor owner and I know mine won't go 100mph (yet).

 

Chad, it doesn't take 100Hp. My un ported, stock carb play banshee will do 90 (followed by a 2001 ranger for over 3 mile stretch) with stock gearing. I am amazed at this number myself. It wouldn't take much gearing change to hit 100. The tranny is a lot higher geared than a 400 though and I am sure I am turnin more HP than he is.

there is no way his ex does 100. Unless its something like a 540 alky stroker with nos, thats lowered and has slicks, there is no way. There are some cocky kids like that around here. My friend jason seriously thought his "FmF piped" lt would "kill" my banshee in a flat out drag. I showed him by killing him by about 15 lengths at the end. Kill him in a drag, he will shut up. Or he will say that you were "speed shifting" as my friend did, and he wont race you again.

hose are very impressive numbers Alky. What size tires did u have on the rear? Mine with 20 inch shredders would only do about 86 going next to a GMC Safari van. Im sure with my old 22 inch 2 plys it would hit 90 easily, but not with the 6 ply shredders, they expand about none. I did step up to a 17 tooth front, so I should have no problems hitting 90..

well al i have is pipes and i'm jeeted properly with a good filter, so how fast can i go approx???
also if i gear up will i lose alot of my bottem end, or does it still have a ton of power to make up for the difference?? thx

and i am planning on racing him as soon as he brings this thing out to play!! and i hope i eat him up just so he shuts his piehole
