Whats your guys opinion on these 2 quads ? im in the market for a sport quad because my util ( 1986 honda 350 4trx 4x4) is just a tad on the slow side and well doesnt jump very well. im kinda leaning towrds the honda for 2 reasons one its a 4 stroke gas is easier to come by and plus its a tad cheaper than the shee. but i like the shee for the looks and the powerband and they sound really cool. if i do get one fo these quads im not going to mod them for a while atleast till im done paying for the quad just because i want to get used to it ( iv only rode a sport quad 1nce) what do you guys think ?.
p.s. id mainly use it for trail use and just kinda messin round where i ride no sand or anything mostly hard pack and jumps.

I know 4 past/present 400EX owners, one took his EX to the dunes one time and immediately started looking for a Banshee. He now owns one and has no regrets. The next modded his up to a 440 with a midrange cam, gave it to his wife and bought a shee for himself. Another owns a 400EX (totally stock) and now is looking for a Banshee(will pass the EX to his wife so he can still have it) And the last has is 400EX, wont ride a Banshee because he likes his machine and doesnt want to suddenly need another quad. In short I'd say the Banshee wins. BTW I have a Warrior which I believe is the best all around 2wd sport quad available(love electric start and reverse) and even I want/NEED a Banshee.

ID HAVE TO SAY I LIKE THE 400EX, BUT I LOVE MY BANSHEE, MYSELF AM 6'1 230LBS AND IT SEEMS TO ME THE BANSHEE STILL BEATS ME AROUND AND TEACHES ME WHO IS THE BOSS IN THE GAME, THE 400EX ITS THE COMPLETE OPISIT, I MENA ITS NOT FAST ENOUGH IF IT WAS EVEN GONNA BEGING TO BE A QUAD ID LIKE IT WOULD DEFANATELY NEED A 440 KT ON THAT THING, THE BANSHEE RULES FOR EVERYTHING FOR ME, I RIDE WOODS TRAILS JUMPS WHOOPS MUD EVERYTHING, ITS A PERFECT QUAD FOR ME...

I think the 400 ex is a great machine but there is no way i would buy one over a banshee. There is really no comparison!! I myself thought i would save money by getting a warrior in 99.
So I bought one, and i loved it. The first time
I went riding with my buddies with Banshees, I hated it, and traded it back in on a Banshee. Four stroke motors have there purpose, but my
pupose required the unrestricted power of a Banshee.. Good luck!!

It's very hard to find the right machine that will do everything. I have a 1997 Banshee that I love riding in the open but when it comes to slow trails and woods riding the EX fits better. The Banshee likes to scream and it comes on hard, nothing like the smooth increase in power like the hot 4 strokes like the EX. Going down to a 12 sproket from a 14 does help putting in the woods but takes quite a bit off the top end speed so you really need to be setup for both. I'm running FMF pipes and a ProMotion twist throttle, it's alot of fun. Good luck in your decision....
