Ward660's tranny and starter went out this last weekend 01. My brothers 01 Raptor had its tranny replaced about a month ago. My cousins 02 Raptors starter went down the weekend before last. My friends 01 raptor had starter replaced after one ride and his tranny failed about 2 months later. Thats 4 people that I know of personally. I have heard about a few more failures where i ride. Need to get a petition started. Maybe they will make a full recall and refund the millions of dollars raptor owners have had to fork out to replace those parts. I can dream cant I.

Had my tranny replaced by the dealer under warranty in Nov. of 2001 7 months old. Quite a bit of riding on yhe first one. The tranny is acting up againin second gear. They replaced the first one with 01 parts. The second tranny probly doesn't have 50 hours on it. Doubt I'll stick with the Yamaha. Love the machine, dealer is great , very helpful

Mine is starting to act up. I wish there was some way to get the parts cheaper. I can't afford 580$ just for parts. I dont trust myself opening up the case. So thats another 300$. Probably 900$ for the whole thing. Just to fix something that should have been called back. It is bull$hit. Im selling mine while its still working. Buying a honda.

Has anyone ever seen Yamaha have a recall? I doubt it, since they only come with a 6 month warranty in the first place. Also, recalls I believe are only if it endangers you or another person. If you can think up a good reason why it would put anyone at risk then we got a case I would think. Just my .02 worth.
