Raptor replacement axle questions....
#1
I'm considering an aftermarket axle to widen and lighten the rear end. I'm trying to compare the:
a) Dura-blue Eliminator (+4" to +6")
b) RPM Doninator (+2" to +5")
c) LSR Axcaliber (+0 to +4")
The prices seem to be pretty comparable and, since I dont jump, strength is likely OK for all.
Questions:
1) How is the width adjustable ?
2) Are they FULLY compatible with the stock axle bearing carrier, brake rotor hub, and sproket hub?
3) Which one is the lightest weight ?
4) Which one has the best nut configuration that does not loosen?
5) Any known deficiencies or common problems with a,b, or c ?
Thanks, Eric

Eric...I have the Durablue Eliminator 2+2....yes they do fit right in with the stock carriers. Easy slip out-slip on installation. Adjustability comes from metal spacers that fit between the hub and the axle nut(at wheel). The more width you need, the more spacers you put behind the hub. Mine is at max. width and measures 51". As far as lightest, couldn't tell ya'.

In general, most of the aftermarket axles are lighter than the stocker - correct ?

Talked to all three mfgs - seems they each (the models listed previously)weigh 16-17 lbs. Is this lighter or heavier than stock ? Could someone with a stock Raptor axle laying around the shop please weigh it and let me know.
I was expecting some weight savings !?
Titanium is a significant weight savings....hmmmmm.....

While you are in there I would replace axle carier bearings. It's a pain to pull it back apart again and the added stress of the extended axle will kill them soon if they arn't bad already.
