I debated about six months between a Z-400 or a Raptor, finally decided on the Raptor-Glad I did. Fast and handles great. Shop around, I only ended up paying about $500 more for my LE than a Z.

thanks for all the info i have decided on getting the raptor 2003 here in a couple of months.

 

i've had mine since september. one of the first ones out. second rappy i've owned.

 

i owned a 01 raptor (no tranny issues).and i liked it until i rode my buddys z400 ..i sold it 2 months after buying it..and got a z400 .i would never buy a raptor again after riding the z ..my z will out handle the raptor with out trying..the only thing the raptor has over the z is drag racing..i ride with 2 other raptors and in a drag race they only beat my by 1 quad...all i have is a yoshi slip on..i just orderd 13-41 sprokets so they wont be beating me for long..and yes they can ride ..they used to race.......

 

z400racing, I like the Z, but I find it hard to believe that with just a slip on yoshi you are only losing by a quad length. Are you racing just a short distance (-300 ft), I mean the stock Z has around 27-28 hp and the stock raptor is around 33-34 hp. Is just a yoshi slip on going to give you 5-6 hp over stock. I have rode the Z, at the dealership, but have not dragged one yet.

 

i got mine a week ago so far and love it, plenty of power...blows pretty much any stock quad away

 

hey guys I know I said i was going to get the raptor but i rode a 400EX for about 2 hrs tonight man that thing is awsome it isnt as fast as the z 400 or raptor but on my track i blew them both away right now i am leaning toward the 400EX. He has a white brothers E-series on it, the full system and with that on it is just as fast as the Z400 if not faster

does anybody know the price of a good 440 kit my friend is thinking of puting that on but wanted to know the price

 

OK now, I know there is no way a 400EX beat a Raptor or that the Z-400 only lost by one bike length. I raced a Z-400 w ith a full FMF exhaust system, ported and polished head, K&N air filter set up plus other mods and my bone stock Raptor pulled away from it. We both (riders) weighed about the same and had the same exact paddle tires on. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
