I have noticed that when I am riding along and give it a sudden burst of speed and the front tires pull up it tends to pull to the right.What could be causing this problem?Secound I would like to know what size of sprocket I should go to to reduce some of the torque?Thanks for any info.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

73Raptor....this is an easy fix. I noticed many Raptors I ride do this and the way to fix it is to buy a steering damper or stabilizer. I don't know exactly why it happens, but after installing a stabilizer, my Rappy stays straight and true at the top of 5th. Also helps keep it straight on lower speed rough terrain and relieves fatigue because there isn't as much "fighting" to keep the quad pointed straight. You can reduce some of the torque by putting a bigger sprocket on the front. Go to like a 14 toothe.

 

Thanks for the reply's.The thing is it pulls to the right even when the front tires are not touching but only under hard excelleration.

You are out of alignment on the axle is tire pressure is good......measure threads instead of the alignment notches on the swingarm. If alignment is'nt perfect, this happens.....everything is exagerrated by the short stock swingarm.

 

Adjustment of rear axle or tire pressure!

 

shmoo is right check the tire pressure If you ride with a pound less in one tire it will always pull to the low side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
