Default Which is the best sport quad

I own a raptor and most of my cousins have a 400ex. I rode their quads and the 400ex sits lower and is a little more stable in the corners. The 400ex also has good throttle response but not as good as the my raptor. if you want power and speed, then go with the raptor. if you want cruising and stableness, go with the 400ex.

If you can get over the fact that Cannondale is BK.

Cannibal, Speed, Blaze. Lot's are avalible get them while they last.

You can't beat a 400EX, Low cost, Low maintance, Good power Potential, Easy to ride. ETC, ETC

I went from a 400ex to a Raptor and I am glad. Reverse is sweet and the power is awesome. Now when I sit on a 400 it seems like a 300 did when I had the 400. If that makes any sense.

I loved my 400ex, but I would never go back.

Jonathon, there is no singe answer to this. If you explained the terrain, type of riding/racing you want to do, experience level and general budget people could help you better. There are too many variables right now. It's like asking "what's the best car?" - it all depends on you.

wyoduner hit the nail on the head. many of the sport quads can be had at prices considerably lower than msrp. i got my 2003 raptor for 6100 otd. a different post said that a guy had one at the dealership for 5500. the msrp on the 400ex and the z400/kfx twins are all 5699, but all can be found a lot cheaper. as long as you find a general type of quad you want, look for some deals. if you can get something really cheap, it might be worth the trade offs compared to other quads.

if you are just starting out, a 400ex would be a good choice. hondas machines have always been very reliable. the z and kfx 400's also seem to be extremely reliable. if you can get one for the same or better price, i would go with one of these over the ex, because they have reverse, liquid cooling, the same handling charachteristics, and they have more power than the 400ex.

let us know how it goes, and let us in on some more information if you know what you are looking for.

The banshee is the best two stroke and the raptor is the best 4 stroke..however, i'm naturally biased towards the banshee..
People who complain about low end or "bottom end" just dont have the nutz to open it up all the way!

right on liquidsand. even though the banshee does not have any bottom-end. if you open it up to where it hits the top-end, you better hang on. your looking at 30-60+ mph wheelies. the shee is definatly not a beginners quad. you better have some expierence in 2-strokes before you ride one. but i would go with the shee. and what about the DS? and if not those, either the kfx/z or a rappy.

im not sure how old this kid is, or what his experience is, but if his riding abilities are at all questionable, i dont think we should be setting him loose on banshees, 660's and ds's. what is your experience, and on what type of machines and conditions?
