Raptor Break In Questions...
#1
I just got my Raptor about a week ago and I'm trying to break it in properly.
But 20 hours is a long time......hahaha.
Should I follow the manual's procedures to the letter?
Or has anyone done anything else different?
Thanks for the help.

the only thing you really need to make sure you stay away from is holding full throttle. you shouldnt be making any top speed runs for a while after you buy it. other than that, i even did some hill climbs and it didnt seem to hurt anything on my 03

I also just got a 2003 raptor, and finished breaking it in but i thought that 20 hours was a little to much. So i did what the dealer said. He said to break it in for 10 hours which would be about 2 tanks of gas, and after each tank of gas to change the oil. And make sure not to go past 3/4 throttle and dont keep the rpms in the same range too long. After this you should be able to do as you want with it!

Sounds good to me,thanks.
My own sense of self preservation is telling me not to take it past 3/4 throttle this soon anyhow...hahaha.
I haven't ridden all winter.......
This thing is a monster compared to my 100% stock 400EX(possibly the only totally stock 2001 EX in existance...haha).
