Sand Devils or Haulers
#2
Well the haulers ( what I run) are going to hook up a little better, have better hill climbing ability, and have a lower profile, they are also lighter, but they are going to wear quicker. I have a set that I am on my 3rd year, and this will probably be the last. People say that angled paddle are better for turning, but I haven't been able to notice that. What I can notice is the difference in pull. I have run with Gekkos, Sand Devils, Skat Trak Edge, Dune Hoppers, and Sand Shark's I like haulers the best.
Are they for the Raptor?

i have a set of extreme haulers, and i love them to death. they dont wear nearly as bad as the old haulers did, and they pull better than the haulers, taller haulers, and just about everything else. they turn fairly well, but no straight paddle tire is made for tight sandy trails. if they are for the raptor, go with the extremes, you will not be dissapointed. jmho.

Dfitz,
Never a flat, but a few of the blades are missing parts of them. I must admit, I like to shoot the hills with bushes on them (usually steeper), and I really did a number on them in St. Anthony, they have alot of lava rocks at the bottom of the bowls. I would say that you should run a 8 paddle. Alot of people think that having alot of blades makes them faster or something. I had 7 paddles on my stock bore 400ex and I was faster than my friends with 8 paddles. When I started losing blades, I definetly didn't slow down. When I got into the motor, I ran my beat up 5 paddle on one side and 6 on the other for the first few times to make it easier on the motor, I was planning on getting 8 paddles, but the 7's let it spin better, and I was faster. So if you have the chance to try different numbers of paddles, I would suggest it. And I am pretty sure that only the Skat Taks have options for the number of paddles. I would bet 8's would be the ticket on your Raptor. You can get wheels that have both the Yammy pattern and the Honda pattern so you could put them on all of your quads. If you do this then you could try a 7 and if it sucks give them to one of your boys. The 300 ex likes a 6 paddle glider.
Good Luck

I run Sand Devils when and if I run paddles. No they're not the best, but they work very well. They will outlast anything that is glued on and are waaaaaay cheaper. Best bang for the buck.. They only come in a few size's and w/ 8 paddles...

Haulers/Extreme Haulers are good but the molded paddles like Sand Devils and others will truly last forever and cost half of what Extreme Haulers cost. If you ride in a place where you have to cross hard pack, rocks, roots, whatever think about the molded paddles. I have the Cheng Shin paddles and haulers too nad the cheap Cheng Shins seem to pull just as good as the hauler - from what I can tell.
