Default 86 banshee

I got a chance to buy an 86 banshee for a 100 bucks, but it needs some work.It needs two pistons, maybe cylinders, header pipe, air box, motor side cover and probably a couple other things. My questions is there any web sites that sell parts for this quad and is there anything I should look out for with this wheeler? Also do they sell shop manuals for it? If anybody has parts or manuals or anything related let me know. Thanks for any info. Brad

Technically Yamaha never made an 86 Banshee. It must have been an 87 released in 86. But on the internet, there is unlimited amounts of information on how to do everything to the quad. You can surely find MOST of the parts you need on Ebay. I really like the Clymer manual. It deals with all years of banshees. From the 87 to the 2003 there was very little changes, so almost all of the information applys to every year. You should look out for cracks in the frame, cracked cases, bent frame or swing arm. But for a 100 bucks, you really cant get toooo picky. I paid 1750 for my 87, but it was in excellent condition and ran perfect. For 100 bucks, dont expect a perfect quad thats going to have any problems. Even the 01 Raptor brand new had a few crippling flaws. But if you restore it, it could be a very cool quad. Especially for 100 bucks. But expect to put atleast 500 into it to get it running right..
