Default 686 Jetting opinions and set ups

I've got an 01 Rappy that I just installed the 02 gears as well as a JE 11:1 102mm piston (686), HotCam Stage 1, and Craycraft porting.

I had a DJ kit in it but took it out b/c I heard that the 686's don't like to run well with this kit.

My setup: Mikuni 175, 180 mains, 25 pilots, needle in fourth groove from the top, fuel screws 3 turns out, stock needles and Dynojet slide springs.

I'll be running an EHS racing Air Box lid (www.ehsracing.com), K&N with Pro-Flow adaptor, GYTR slip on and modified stock headpipe. My elevation is here in Texas at about sea level.

How does this jetting look to you more experienced 686 owners out there? I haven't put the whole thing back together yet so I can't do a plug chop. I want to get in the ballpark before I fire her up for the first time.

Thanks a lot.

Matt

Sorry I can't answer your question but how do you modify your stock headpipe.
Thanks

If you take a look inside the headpipe where it meets the head, there are little raised welds where the outer mount pipe is welded to the inside of the pipe. I heve heard that if you grind these down, it helps out flow. Makes sense since they are in the way. Basically just grind out anything that sticks up inside the pipe.

Some say that this is there to prevent "reversion" of the exhaust gasses but it sure looks like it is just a weld that was deemed too expensive/time consuming in the factory to grind down.

I am running a 175-177.5 set-up with DJ needles.....which is equal too needing 185-187.5 on Mikuni needles. Stage 1, stock bore 11/1 JE and e-series exhaust with no spark arrester.
